There's more in you than you think

Have you ever asked yourself these questions:

What is one thing you know you must do in life, but terrifies you to even think of doing?

Are you in transition but don't know what you need to move forward?

Is there a personal quality you want to discover this summer?

If have the desire to figure out the answers, we want to help. Outward Bound has, oh, you know, a bit of experience helping youth and adults build self-esteem and confidence outdoors. Now we want to help you do the same online.

With the help of our expert instructors, experienced staff, and -- most importantly -- you, we'll be sharing photos, videos, trivia, FAQs, and activities through social media to get you discovering that there really is more in you than you think. Even if you're not on an Outward Bound course this summer.

But wouldn't it be cool if you were on a course this summer? You'd be learning backpacking skills, trying sea kayaking, hiking around trees taller than buildings, cooking over a fire in the mountains, and solving problems with people who will become your lifelong friends. Not a bad summer, right?

We want to help with that too.

That's why we're giving you $250 off any 2012 Summer Youth course in Alberta and British Columbia when you post to our Facebook wall, tweet at us or comment on our blog about your own personal discovery. It's that simple.

Just make sure to share your story online by June 30 because courses get going at the beginning of July and we want to make sure you're on one of those courses, creating new stories in the outdoors!

So go forth, friends, and like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and subscribe to this blog so you get regular doses of #personaldiscovery.

Then, share your story. Because we want to hear it. Online, and offline.

Outward Bound Canada Board Members Paddle the Don!

OBC On Sunday May 6th Board members and staff from Outward Bound Canada joined 535 other Torontonians to paddle the mighty Don River in the Paddle the Don Event and in doing so, helping to raise $73,000 towards environmental projects in the Don River watershed. The Don River is at the heart of Canada's largest urban region. It is also at the heart of Outward Bound Canada's new urban tripping area, where we are connecting urban youth to themselves, to their communities and to their local environment through adventurous journeys in the urban wilderness.  To read more about this exciting new project of our's you can go to the Urban Programs section on our website.
